Estepona is it any good to buy a property
Since I started our business 15 years ago in Estepona, we moved further up to Malaga, Marbella and Benalmadena Costa. The question is, Estepona is it any good to buy a property. The town has grown very fast, maybe too fast. You see still the traditional way of doing business, get served in bars and restaurant in Estepona, The local residents are different and think different than residents in other parts of the Costa del Sol up to Malaga. New build developments, sports facilities, commercial centres and local industry grown and build fast the last 15 years in this town. It is not Marbella, neither Fuengirola, Benalmadena or Malaga. This is the charm of this little town on the Costa del Sol, if you like it then you can consider buying a house here, if you don´t like it you shall move on to Marbella, Malaga. The property prices are generally cheaper in Estepona, so this can be a reason to buy here. Personally I don´t like the beaches there aren´t that good, the sand is not fine and to much stones. There is no large commercial centre, the largest is the Carrefour at the east of Estepona. The puerto deportivo is ok, well over priced for moorings. So what todo in Estepona, sports, mountain biking, watersports, a walk aorund the old town, visit the port with its restaurants and bars. As I said it is not booming in Estepona except the property sales. If you like more urban life, more exitement, more international atmosphere, more glamour and glitter this is not your town. If you like it quiet, cheap and typical Spanish then this is your town.
